Renovation of curves & colour cut through School's brutalist lines at the University of Queensland
Tuesday November 15, 2016
Brisbane-based practice m3architecture have completed stage one of renovations to UQ School of Architecture’s Zelman Cowen Building, which was designed by Nutter Stevenson and Partners in 1974. Curves and colour cut through the straight lines of the purpose-built brutalist building. Inspired by the pop art stair mural painted by Pancho Guedes, m3 worked closely with Head of School, Professor Sandra Kaji’-O’Grady, to create open and adaptable spaces that reflect the way architectural learning has evolved and happens today.
