The AASA has received a total of four high quality proposals from members for 2019 Digital Learning Research Grant and is pleased to announce the grant will be awarded to…
“Evaluating the Effectiveness of Online-teaching in Architecture Courses” by Dr Rongrong Yu, Dr Henry Skates, Prof Ning Gu and Prof Michael Ostwald.
This research project is jointly developed by Architecture & design, School of Engineering and Built Environment, Griffith University; School of Art, Architecture and Design, University of South Australia and Faculty of Built Environment, University of New South Wales.
The Jury’s comment
“This proposal is strong and relevant. It promises to make a valuable contribution, not only to the (currently limited) body of knowledge on blended learning, specifically in architectural education, but also to creating good precedent for blended learning interventions in architectural education.”
“This one focuses only on studio and theory units but these are the most contentious areas in digital education. The team spans three universities and the survey will undoubtably cover a lot more. The proposed output will seemingly be very useful to programmes looking to introduce or enhance online teaching methods.”
“Another good application. A quantitative and qualitative study of existing online tools. Clear application, would be interesting to see the results.”
